Zinia Rita Sterling, 74, of Trilby, FL. passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017. She was born May 22, 1942 in Ybor City, FL. to Julio & Maria Suarez Torano and worked as a secretary and bookkeeper in the construction industry. She was a member of "Women in Construction" and loved line dancing and zumba. Zinia is survived by her husband of 51 years: Jonathan K. Sterling Jr., 2 children: Michael Sterling and Michele Sterling-Rydeen. She has one surviving brother, Steve Torano, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Zinia was also fortunate enough to have 3 lifelong friends: Francene Grivna, Karen Siegel and Alice Sigmund. Zinia was a talented artist and enjoyed sketching and oil painting. She dreamed of becoming an archaeologist and professional dancer. When she was older in life, she returned to college and achieved two degrees in the medial field and was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa sorority. A friends and family memorial will be held at the Sterling family home.
