CHANDLER, Willis Donald, of Dade City, FL died July 10, 2020 at Gulfside Hospice in Zephyrhills, FL. He was born on September 27, 1930. Donald served proudly for four years in the United States Navy. He served during the Korean War and as an ammunition store keeper on the ship. After his time in the service, Donald worked as a pharmacist for 48 years. He graduated from the University of Georgia School of Pharmacy in 1958 as a member of the Rho Chi Honorary Society. He went on to own Dade City's Chandler Pharmacy, where he worked as the pharmacist from 1972-1986. During this time, Donald's family became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He later retired from Winn Dixie Pharmacy in Dade City at the age of 65. Donald loved his pharmacy and the people in Dade City and other areas of Florida. He finally retired as a Relief Pharmacist at the age of 75. Donald was a loved, intelligent, witty, and remarkable man. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons: Steven Donald Chandler and Richard Clarence Chandler; one brother, Charles Monroe Chandler; and four sisters: Ernestine C. Parker, Irene Pernell, Nettie Jean, and Mildred Chandler. Loving survivors include his wife of 67 years, Carroll Johnette Haynie Chandler; two sons: John Willis Chandler and Joel David Chandler; two sisters: Anne Chandler Bowie and Carolyn Sumner; seven grandsons; two great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter. A funeral service will be held at Florida National Cemetery at a later date.
