Dade City, Florida - Mr. William A. Wood (Bill) 67, of Dade City formerly of Topsfield, MA. Died July 9th, 2022 while in the care of Orchid Cove, Dade City, FL.
Born May 28, 1955, in Beverly, MA. he was the son of the late Robert A. Wood and Elizabeth (Yates) Wood. He was raised in Topsfield, MA. where he graduated from Masconomet Regional High School, class of 1973. He graduated from North Shore Community College in 1975, and later graduated from North Eastern College in Boston in 1978.
Mr. Wood was the Water Superintendent for the town of Topsfield for thirty-plus years. He also served the Town of Topsfield as a call firefighter and was promoted to Lieutenant. He also was a past Master of the New Meadows Lodge.
Bill had many interests and hobbies. He was a licensed HAM radio operator, N1HSZ, and was a member of the W1PZ Pocahontas Radio Club and the K4TRR, Travelers Rest Resort Radio Club. He was an avid reader and also enjoyed square dancing with his wife at Fair Town Squares.
He enjoyed vacationing and boating on Sebago Lake, Maine, and Round Pond, Maine.
After retirement, he and his wife moved to Travelers Rest, Dade City, FL. Where he enjoyed his motorhome, taking trips back home to stay with family. While living in Travelers Rest, he served on the maintenance committee.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pamela (Walters) Wood, his two children, Robert K. Wood, and his wife Deborah Wood of Tyngsborough, MA., and Kristen E. Wood of Springfield, VT. His two granddaughters Emily Wood and Nicole Wood of Tyngsborough, MA., and his brothers and sisters. Carolyn R. Zelenka and her husband Bernard (Dee) of Groveland, MA. Deborah J. Macklin and her husband Richard of Damascus MD. Charles B. Wood and his wife Christine of Topsfield, MA., and Donald Y. Wood and his wife Andrea of Topsfield, MA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Celebration of life will be held at the Emerson Center, 9 East Common St. Topsfield, MA. July 22nd, 3 - 6 pm. Friends and family are invited to attend.
