Obituary

William Williams, affectionally known as "Wild Bill", "Bill or Billy", "Pops", "Gigi" "Chief" or simply "Dad" was born in San Francisco, CA to his parents Ralph and Francis Williams on September 20, 1941.Bill joined the Air Force right after high school and retired from the United States Air Force in July 1989 as a Chief Master Sergeant (E9) the highest enlisted rank in the Air Force. During his 30-year military career in Air Weather Service he held an array of positions from Superintendent, Forecasting Services Division, Aerospace Sciences, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois; Detachment Chief at Fort Knox, Kentucky, to Wing Weather Officer for 376th Strategic Air Command Wing, Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan.Following his distinguished career in the Air Force, Bill worked at Alaka'I Mechanical Corporation as a Safety Manager and achieved his second retirement after 22 years of additional service as one of three people worldwide with certifications and specialty in the Safety Industry.Bill dedicated his life to working hard, saving money, and teaching his family how to create generational wealth for themselves and their legacies to come. He gave selflessly and generously to ensure everyone in his family was taken care of during their time of need. His son-in-law (Angel) would say he taught him to never owe anyone anything, pay bills on time and always take care of his family. Not knowingly, he was the father to his son-in-law that he never had but always wanted. While stationed in Okinawa, Bill found true love at first sight with his lifetime companion and soulmate. Hatsu Miyagi Williams. They married on July 5, 1963. These two emersed themselves in each other's culture and shared monumental moments with one another traveling the world bringing them to their favorite residence in Mililani, Hawaii. After 54 years together, they raised their loving daughter Amy Etsuko Williams (now Amy Etsuko Garcia). His favorite moments with his daughter were practicing softball, teaching her how to catch, and to be good at sports. If you ask her, she will say this taught her to stand strong, always push harder and never give up even when catching those hard balls in life.As a child and the only boy in a family of five, Bill found his pleasure hanging out with his sisters. They shared sweet moments together as he loved to carry his sister(s) on his shoulders. Bill loved his parents, and his relationship with his father was strong as his only goal was to always meet his father's expectations as a man. Bill loved his mother as she was his world. In his mother's eyes, he could do no wrong and he will forever be her baby boy.He was a jokester; he loved to make "wisecracks" and see his family and friends laugh especially in the hardest of moments. We will always remember these times as they were precious to us.Bill was an avid and lifelong coin collector since the age of five (5). He would spend hours looking for coins (especially pennies in the parking lot or coins in the phone booths), cleaning, grading, and collecting them. He was always excited to find treasure in small things which he shared his enthusiasm often. In January 2011, Bill and Hatsu moved to Wesley Chapel, FL where he lived the remainder of his life spending endless family celebrations with his daughter and grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Bill passed peacefully in his sleep after a long fearless battle with cancer in his daughter's home under the care of his family. He was surrounded and supported by loved ones during the last days of his life. We miss his presence dearly.Bill is survived by his sisters, Kathleen and Kenny Pitman, Colleen and James Harris, Sharon and Zdravko Marinov, and Sheryle and Jose Santiago_ His three (3) daughters and one (1) son-in-law, Keiko Matsuda, Emiko Christian, Angel and Amy Garcia. Eight (8) Grandchildren - Warren Christian, Kelvin and Anita Scott, Angel Garcia Jr. and Diana Jafari-Garcia, Joji and Cecy Matsuda and Brandy Essex. Fifteen (15) great-grandchildren Iris and Aariel, Teara, Chanel and Darrell, Chantel, Alejandro, Kelvin Jr. (KJ), Yohami, Valentino, Nathanio, Naomi, Julissa, Anika, and Megumi. One great great granddaughter Khadijah (KC) and 18 nieces and nephews, their spouses, and children from his four loving Sisters. He is preceded in homecoming by his Wife, Hatsu Williams, Parents Ralph and Francis Williams, his son-in-law Warren Christian III and grand-daughter in law, Vicky Christian.
