William Scott
Campbell
Sep 28, 1948 — Aug 15, 2026
William Scott “Bill” Campbell, 77, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2026, in Dade City, Florida.
Bill was born on September 28, 1948, in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, to the late Paul Lewis Campbell and Olive Irene Barber Campbell. Born the thirteenth of fourteen children, Bill grew up surrounded by a large family, forming bonds and memories that remained an important part of his life.
Bill spent his working years as a farmer, a fitting occupation for a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of country life. He especially loved mowing the lawn, raising chickens, and selling “brown eggs.” These everyday activities brought him happiness and reflected his appreciation for hard work and a life lived close to the land.
Bill never married and had no children of his own, but he was blessed with an extraordinarily large extended family. He was an uncle to many generations of Campbells and was loved by his numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.
Bill is survived by his siblings, George Campbell of Edinboro, Pennsylvania; Genny Davis of Surprise, Arizona; and Jerry Campbell of Edinboro, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Shirley Campbell and Judy Mickle, both of Edinboro, Pennsylvania; his niece, Misty Campbell-Knause of Edinboro, Pennsylvania; his nephew, Matthew Campbell of Dade City, Florida; and 29 additional loving nieces and nephews, along with many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Lewis Campbell and Olive Irene Barber Campbell; and his siblings, Larry Campbell, Lewis Campbell, Gene “Claudia” Campbell, Jack “Gloria” Campbell, Bob “Ellie” Campbell, Paul “Buster” Campbell, Frank “Lois” Campbell, Marie “Don” Helmbrick, Art Campbell, and Annie Mickle. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Don Davis, as well as 11 nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
From his childhood as one of fourteen children in Pennsylvania to his later years in Florida, Bill's life was rooted in family, hard work, and the quiet things that brought him contentment. He will be remembered fondly by the many generations of family who had the privilege of calling him brother, uncle, and friend.
