Obituary

William "Bill" Claude Redd passed away on December 23, 2016. Bill was born in Kansas City, MO, the beloved son of Earl and Helen Redd (Earls Hamburger chain, KC, MO). A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Bill is survived by his loving wife, Cee Cee Redd, Dade City, FL; son, Christopher Earl Redd, Chicago, IL; daughter, Sara Ann Carney, Hoover, AL; and four precious grandchildren, Michael Redd (University of Indiana), Courtney Redd (DePaul University - Chicago), Allison Carney (University of NC-Wilmington) and Andrew Carney (Hoover, AL). Bill attended Ruskin High School, KC, MO, served in the Armed Forces in Ft. Riley, Kansas and San Antonio, Texas and graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia, MO in 1961 with a Bachelors degree in marketing. After a distinguished thirty-four year career with Citgo Petroleum Corporation, Bill retired as District Territory Manager in 1998, representing Illinois, Missouri and Kansas, with the respected title from Oilmans Magazine as "Mr. Citgo". Bill was an avid sports enthusiast, playing golf and tennis and a faithful fan of the University of Missouri Tigers football and basketball teams and the Kansas City Royals baseball and Kansas City Chiefs football teams. Bill generously donated to numerous charitable and philanthropic foundations and will fondly be remembered for his grand sense of humor; great appreciation of music, especially the piano and sincere love of God, country, family and friends. Bills final interment and resting place will be in Mount Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home, Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers and funeral services, please make donations to the American Heart Association, or the American Diabetes Association.
