Obituary

PRETTYMAN, William Harold, "Bill", age 81, of Wesley Chapel, Florida, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021. He was a graduate of the Glassport High School class of 1957 and went on to obtain his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1972 and his Master of Science Degree in Business Administration from Troy State University in 1976.

Bill served his country proudly in the United States Air Force for 21 years working in both avionics and the space program. During his 21 years of service to his country, he served a tour of duty in Thailand during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, Bill began working for the City of Tampa as an Accountant, where he worked for an additional 25 years.

After retiring, Bill and his wife Patricia enjoyed traveling to different parts of the world, with their most memorable trip being to the Holy Land. Bill also loved spending time with his family, which he did often. Bill will also be remembered for his love of sports. He loved every sport and was a dedicated fan of every Tampa team, in both good times and bad.

Bill was also an active and dedicated member of his church, Heart of Worship, where he served as a member of the Board of Directors for the last 5 years. Bill will be remembered for his love of God and service to him, which was constantly demonstrated by his compassion and love of people.

Above all else, Bill will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, and brother. He and Patricia, his best friend and love of his life, were married for 62 years. They had 4 daughters, Debra, Barbara, Michelle and Jennifer, three sons-in-law, John, Anthony, and Keith, 10 grandchildren, Anthony, Angela, Rachel, Mitchell, Joshua, Tanisha, Christopher, Zachary, Mark and Faith, and 7 great-grandchildren, Addison, Ellanee, Isabella, Dominic, Aidan, Brynlee and McKylnee.

One of Bills greatest contributions was his unwavering love and faith in our Lord. He not only spoke the words, but he lived a life that exemplified his belief. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John Prettyman and Myrtle (Staley) Prettyman, his brother, Eugene, his sisters Betty, Carol, Ida Mae, and Iris, and his beloved dog, Samson. Bill is survived by his wife, Patricia, his 4 daughters, 3 sons-in law, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and his sister Alberta. Bill is missed terribly. While heaven gained a great man, the world lost one and he will be sorely missed.
