William Nathaniel Horne began his rest on September 18, 2026, at the age of 86. He was born in Puerto Barrios, Izabal, Guatemala, on April 28, 1940. William grew up free-spirited and had a deep love for nature.

William was born to Walter and Chriselda Horne as an only child and was raised in a Seventh-day Adventist home. Throughout his life, he built a legacy centered on service, hard work, love for his family, and, most importantly, a deep love for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

His faith in Jesus was at the heart of who he was. William gave his life to Christ at a young age and spent his life loving the Lord, studying the Bible, and encouraging his family to place their trust in Jesus.

As a young adult, William moved to the United States and pursued an apprenticeship to become a lithographic press operator. He later met his match, Bertha, and they were married on June 23, 1968. After completing his apprenticeship, William opened his own printing business, Horne’s Lithographic Printing, in Los Angeles, California. He continued working in the printing industry until his retirement.

William had many interests, but second only to studying the Bible was his love for music. He frequently volunteered to lead song service at church and sang many solos as a member of the Tabernacle Avenue Seventh-day Adventist Church choir. Above all, however, one of his greatest joys was opening his home to host weekly Bible studies.

The theme of William’s personal ministry was centered on his favorite scripture, Isaiah 26:3:

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

His mission was to remind everyone never to neglect their relationship with Christ. One of his most memorable sayings was, “Don’t let nothing separate you from the love of God.” Those words capture the message he desired to leave with his family and his brothers and sisters in Christ.

William is survived by Bertha, his beloved wife of 58 years; his children; his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; and a wide circle of brothers and sisters in Christ. His legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion will continue through all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Walter and Chriselda Horne, and his beloved daughters, Lea and Ruth Horne; his Aunt Joyce Willoughby and cousin Joel Willoughby. Their memories and love will forever remain a cherished part of the Horne family
