GAST, William A. Senior Chief Air Traffic Controlman, USN RetWilliam was born on April 21, 1931 in Louisville, KY. He joined his Heavenly Father on October 10, 2019. He leaves his loving wife and soul mate of more than 64 years, Delores Gast; sons: John & William; daughters: Lucinda & Rebecca; grandchildren: Dawn, Carrie, William, Jakob, Amanda, and Brady; three great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Cora Sue many friends in Florida and loving family members in Washington State and Kentucky. William served aboard the USS Shangri-La during the Korean War. He did tours of duty in Alaska, Michigan, Florida, and the Philippine Islands. Afters 20 years he retired from the Navy. William then joined the U.S. Postal Service and retired after 20 years. William loved and honored his God, Family, and Country. A visitation and rosary will be held from 1:30-2:30pm on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City, FL. A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10am on Friday, October 18, 2019 with a reception to follow. Burial will follow the reception, taking place at 2pm at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
