Obituary

Formy-Duval, William S., 89 of Lakeland passed away of respiratory failure on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. He was born on June 16, 1925 in Brunswick County, North Carolina to Henry L. and Ethel (Carlisle) Formy-Duval. He was a farmer, highway department worker, pastor and boilermaker. A man of many talents and skills that was known by his family and friends everywhere; he was very helpful and resourceful to all who knew him. He enjoyed fishing, building things and helping others. Papa, as he was known, had an enjoyable life in his community and church. He pastored several churches in North Carolina and Florida. He attended the First Church of God in Tampa, Florida until his health failed him. Preceding him in death were his parents Henry & Ethel Formy-Duval, sister Lillian Griffin and sister Margaret Ann Rebentisch. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Formy-Duval; 5 adult children: son Brent Formy-Duval (Gwen) of Urbana, MO, daughter Che Che Mobley (Larry) of Camden, SC, daughter Arlene Schrock (Tim) of Interlachen, FL, daughter Linda Formy-Duval (Matt) of Venice, FL, daughter Sherri Scharber of Dade City, FL; 1 brother: C.L. Formy-Duval of Central Park, OR; 15 grandchildren: Brian Formy-Duval (Kathy) of Anchorage, AK, Angela Jacobs (Jeff) of Springfield, MO, Rachel Powell of Columbia, MO, Matthew Mobley (Gina) of Clermont, FL, Mandy Bohm (Gary) of Huntington, WV, Marsha Reeder (Eric) of Anderson, IN, Steve Schrock of Greenville, OH, Starla Schrock of Humble, TX, Wendy Koch (Richard) of Lakeland, FL, Amy McFarlane (Aric) of Mascotte, FL, Brandon Beckley (Brigette) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Brent Pearson (LeAnn) of Venice, FL, Krista Clark (Kelly) of Manchester, TN, Ashlee Coffell (James) of Brooksville, FL, Jordan Scharber of Dade City, FL; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 1-3pm Monday, November 3, 2014 at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City where funeral services will follow immediately at 3pm. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Gardens. Flowers will be gratefully accepted or those that wish may make donations in his memory to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
