William "Bill" Diez 86, of San Antonio, FL passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 27, 2018. Bill was born January 25, 1932 in Tampa, FL to Joseph Raymond Diez & Jewel Utah Yarbrough. He attended St. Leo Preparatory School in St. Leo FL, graduating in 1950. Married to Eileen Margaret McCabe in June 1953, he was then drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Ulm, Germany where his first son was born. Bill then started a 50+ year career as a cattle buyer for Lykes Bros and Brown Packing Companies, in a time when a mans word and a firm handshake were still valued currency. He is survived by his children: Steven Raymond Diez, Linda (Ken) Snell, Joe Diez, John (Karen) Diez, Julie (John) Falls, and their mother Eileen, five grandchildren (Jesse, Stephanie, Hailey, Chase and Lilah), and one great-grand daughter (Olivia Madeline). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Fr. Marion Bowman Scholarship Fund at St. Leo University, PO Box 6665, MC 2354, St Leo, FL 33574.
