Obituary

COCHRANE, William W., 83, of Dade City, Fla., passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011, under the care of HPH Hospice. He was born July 20, 1928, in Dade City to Stanley and Martha Schofner Cochrane. He was a Licensed Broker in both the Real Estate and Insurance Industry; and was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, where his family has served for several generations. He graduated from Pasco High School where he played guard for their undefeated Pasco Pirate Football Team, he was the fastest guy on the team. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Japan in 1946; and graduated from the University of Florida on the G.I. Bill. He moved back to Dade City in the 80s from West Palm Beach, Fla., and began substitute teaching in the Pasco County School Systems. He became active in the Center Stage Players where he held several lead roles. He is survived by his four sons, William Earnest "Billy" Cochrane, Frank Henry Cochrane, Wallace Stanley "Stan" Cochrane and Will Nason Cochrane; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church in Dade City. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the 5th Street Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home.
