Wilbur Lee Hicks passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014 with his family at his side. Having lost his battle with cancer at the age of 76. He was a Native of Plant City, Florida and was an employee for the City of Plant City for 21 years. Wilbur is preceded in death by his father Wilbur Eugene and mother BeatriceHicks. He is survived by wife Deborah, daughter Dana, granddaughter Vanessa and grandson Christopher. Brothers, Robert (Bobby), William, (Billy) of Plant City and Larry Hicks of Lakeland, Florida. Aunt Lillian and Uncle Lou LeDou of South Carolina, nieces, nephews and many cousins in and around Plant City area. Being a born Story Teller, Wilbur could entertain family and friends with stories mostly about the Old West. He loved old western movies. Roy Rogers, Hop-A-Long Cassidy and Gene Autry were among some of his favorites. Blessed with an incredible memory, he was able to recall a lot of history about the Hicks Family. Wilbur was a devoted husband, proud Dad, and a very proud Grandpa, (Poppy). He will be missed by many. Memorial Services will be announced at a later date.
