IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wayne
Buttery
November 2, 1938 – April 5, 2021
Wayne Buttery passed away peacefully on April 5, 2021, at Gulfside Hospice in Zephyrhills due to complications of heart disease. He is survived by a son, John, and Karen Walker, of Alexandria, Virginia, and a daughter Laura, and Patrick Linville, of Talking Rock, Georgia, and grandchildren Natalie and Nancy Walker and Adam, Joel, and Cody Linville.
Wayne Bryant Buttery was born in Dwight, Illinois on November 2, 1938. He was married on July 11, 1964, in Park Forest, Illinois to Nancy Ann (Leer) Walker, who preceded him in death on November 4, 2005. He and Nancy subsequently moved to Tampa, Florida, where Wayne was an industrial supply salesman for nearly two decades prior to his retirement.
Wayne was active in area churches, a frequent volunteer at several local feeding and housing ministries, and an avid golfer and community member at Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club in San Antonio, Florida, where he resided until shortly before his death.
In light of coronavirus concerns, no public funeral is currently planned. Private interment of ashes will be held in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, where Waynes remains will be buried along with those of his beloved wife Nancy at Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens, near Wayne and Nancys favorite vacation spot.
Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to John Walker, 1102 Finley Lane, Alexandria, VA 22304. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to St Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (www.stjude.org), or Gulfside Hospice, Attn: Carla Armstrong, 2061 Collier Parkway, Land OLakes, FL 34639 (www.gulfside.org) in memory of Wayne B.
