Warren C. (Mac) McKendree 77, of Dade City, FL passed away Friday, September 16th, 2022, at his home. He was born November 19, 1944, in Darby, FL to Cop (Clarence Albert) & Mary Ethel McKendree and was a life-long area resident. In 2011, he retired from the Withlacoochee River Electric Co-op after 35 years of employment. He loved spending his time outdoors fishing and also hunting with his buddies Billy (Captain) Brown, Robert (Choppy) Gulvin and Edge Roberson. Mac is survived by his wife of 53 years: Darlene Prater McKendree; his son: Brent McKendree and his wife Sharon; two grandsons: Blain and Laken and his fiance Beatriz Cruz; sister: Mary Lee Capparelli and her husband Joe; brothers-in-law: David, Dan, and Dwayne Prater and his wife Jackie; nieces: Becci Gonzalez and her husband Jesse, Brenda McCoy, Melissa LaMonte and her husband Mark, Barbie Moore and her husband Mike, Corrie, Cassie, Lindsey, and Aubrey; nephews: David Jr., Jason, Joel, and Jarrod; several great nieces and nephews; and Wesley Croft whom he considered like his adopted son. He was preceded in death by his parents Cop and Ethel Harper McKendree; sister Lucille Musser; in-laws: Wesley and Betty Bryant Prater; and his nephew: Cody Prater. A Memorial Gathering will be held Tuesday evening, September 20th, 2022, from 5-7 PM at the Chapel Hill Gardens Mausoleum in Dade City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Parkinsons Foundation.
