Warren J. "Jimmy" Dowling Jr., age 83, of Dade City, FL passed away on July 7, 2020. He was born on October 17, 1936 to parents Warren James Dowling Sr. & Cassie (Page) Dowling. Jimmy's family was a pioneer family of Dade City. Although he loved to travel, especially if he were visiting his cabins in North Carolina or at the beach, Jimmy called Blanton home and lived there his entire life. Jimmy was also an extremely hard worker. He owned citrus groves and also proudly served his country as a member of the National Guard and later the Army Reserves. He retired from the Florida Department of Transportation after a 35 year career. He was a surveyor and inspector and was very proud of that fact that he was a part of the team that constructed the first interstate system in this area. Jimmy leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Dorothy Dowling; three sons: Warren "JimBo" Dowling III (Debbie) of Dade City, FL, Patrick Dowling of Spartanburg , SC, and Michael Dowling of Ft. Lauderdale; four grandchildren: Kyle Dowling (Rebecca) of Dade City, FL, Mari Anne Dowling of Spartanburg, SC, Andrea Dowling of Everett, WA, and Adam Dowling of Spartanburg, SC; along with many other friends and loved ones. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A graveside service officiated by Ken Littlefield will be held at 2pm on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Townsend House Cemetery in Dade City, FL.
