Walter Glenn Carlton Jr., 69, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026, in Zephyrhills, Florida, while receiving hospice care. He was born on January 24, 1957, in Wilmington, Delaware, to Walter Carlton Sr. and Helen Carlton.

Walter proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Senior Airman (E-4) and serving as a fighter aircraft mechanic at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. Following his medical discharge in 1980, he spent the remainder of his working years as a truck driver.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Carlton Sr. and Helen Carlton; his beloved wife, Audrey Carlton, who passed away in 2008; his son, Walter Carlton III; and his brother, Brian Carlton.

He is survived by his son, Patrick Carlton and his wife, Ashley; his daughter-in-law, Kristin Carlton, wife of his late son Walter; his grandchildren, Hayleigh Carlton, Kellseigh Carlton, Alyssa Williams and her husband, Ethan, Ava Carlton, and Preston Carlton; his sisters, Cynthia Woodard and her husband, Wayne, and Vivian McKee and her husband, Jim; and his brother, Martin Carlton and his wife Sharon.

Walter was cremated, and he and Audrey will be laid to rest together at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
