The family of Wallace "Wally" Adam Gerow, age 85, of Dade City, Florida and Island Falls, Maine is sad to announce that he went into the arms of the Lord on Friday, April 12, 2019. Wally was born on May 22, 1933 in the town of Hersey, Maine. He was the oldest son of Donald F. Gerow and Myrna Evelyn Hatto.

Wally enjoyed all of God's nature. He loved to garden, fish, and watch the birds and animals everywhere he might be located. He graduated from Island Falls High School and was the Class President all 4 years. He attended the University of Maine in Orono for one year of forestry study and that summer he worked for the Forestry Service in the State of Washington. Once home, he entered the U.S. Army for 3 years during the Korean Conflict. He later became a draftsman and designer for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in Hartford, CT. Wally retired early and moved to Dade City, FL where he designed and built his Florida home.

Wally was preceded in death by his parents, Donald F. Gerow and Myrna Evelyn Hatto; one brother, Donald F. Jr. and his wife Nancy Neumarker.

Wally is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Margaret M. Roberts Gerow of Dade City, FL; one sister, Nancy Gerow Moody of Bingham, Maine; two wonderful sons, Gregg A. Gerow of Southwick, MA and Donald F. Gerow of E. Granby, CT; his pride and joy, two grandchildren, Kayleen A. and Benjamin T. Gerow of Southwick, MA; two "special" sons, Mark H. Douglass of Jacksonville, FL and Eric R. Douglass (Kerri Ward) of Ft. Edward, NY; grandchildren Logan E. and Brandon J. Douglass of SC, Jordan B. and Sarah M. Douglass of Ft. Edward, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and "special" relatives Michael Hatto, Aaron Boulette, and Jim Gerow.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida on Friday May 17, 2019 at 11:00AM. The Reverend Bradford Stevens will deliver the message.
