Oct 8, 1931 — Sep 4, 2026
WARNER, Virginia Taliaferro
Age 94, of Cumming, GA, formerly of Dade City, FL, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026.
Virginia was born on October 8, 1931, in St. Louis, MO, to Harry and Alma Taliaferro. She grew up in the Liberty Heights neighborhood of Baltimore, MD, and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Towson State College. While in college, she met her future husband, Don Warner Jr., who was attending Johns Hopkins University.
In 1962, the family relocated to Dade City, FL, where Virginia became one of Pasco County’s very first kindergarten teachers as public programs expanded. She dedicated 30 years to teaching at Pasco Elementary School, impacting countless lives with her love of learning. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and a dedicated mentor to local youth and adults.
An adventurous traveler, Virginia cherished her trips to the United Kingdom—frequently returning to Wales, England, and Scotland—as well as Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland, and Egypt.
Virginia lived in Dade City for 60 years before spending her final years in Cumming, GA, with her family. Known for her intelligence, sharp wit, and humor, she remained deeply engaged with the world throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Alma (Dottie) Cripps; and her beloved husband of 49 years, Donald Warner Jr.
She is survived by her sister, Ann Mitchell; her children, Don Warner (Lisa) and Kathryn Kinsman (Scott); four grandchildren, Sarah, Beth, Megan, and Max; and four great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Trenton, Ella, and Kinsey.
