Virginia D. James, 86, passed away peacefully at her home on July 7, 2016. Virginia received her bachelors degree from Florida State University and immediately embarked upon a teaching career. Not long thereafter, Virginia and her late husband George began their lifelong passion of citrus farming. Virginia continued her love of farming and gardening throughout her entire life. She was a loving wife and mother, friend to many, and a sharp businesswoman. Whenever possible, Virginia traveled to Highlands, NC to escape the Florida heat and enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery. Virginia is survived by her children, Linda Beecham and Randy James, and two grandsons, James Beecham and Mark Beecham. Virginias family will receive friends Monday, July 11th from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the 5th Street Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 12th at Townsend House Cemetery.
