Viola Marie Holmes, 80, of Zephyrhills Florida, formerly of Plant City and Tampa, entered into heaven on July 18, 2022, at 2:22 am. She was born in Brewton Alabama on November 3, 1941, to the late Elijah Sloan and Marie Sloan-Morabito. A member of Shiloh Baptist Church, she kept God in her heart and shared her faith with everyone. A loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved gardening and floral design, and after graduating with honors from Erwin Technical School, spent many years as a successful florist and Central Florida floral design competition champion. She is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Holmes, and her son Timothy J. Holmes (Marisa) of Zephyrhills; siblings, Elijah Sloan Jr. of Lakeland, Sue Ann Sloan of Plant City, Mary Hinson (Gary) of Plant City, Kenneth Sloan (Jesmarie) of Orlando and her grandson Jackson Holmes. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at 11:00 am at Shiloh Baptist Church, 905 W. Terrace Drive Plant City, FL. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am. Committal to follow at Oakside Cemetery, Zephyrhills.
