Victoria Irene Meier Rivera, age 91, of Tampa, died Sunday April 30, 2017. Born and raised in Poznan, Poland. She and her parents left Poland because of WW2 and ended up in post war, occupied Germany. She received her Nursing Degree there in Heidelberg. Later she and her family moved to Asuncin, Paraguay, were she obtained her Medical Doctorate and practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology. There she met her first husband, the late Emil B. Meier, Jr. and moved to the US in the late 1950's. She moved to Tampa in 1960, later obtaining her real estate license, selling residential homes. After the death of her first husband, she married Larry Rivera, Consulate General to Mexico and moved to Guadalajara, Mexico. Upon his retirement, she returned to Tampa, and later Dade City, were she spent her remaining years. She is survived by her husband, Larry Rivera; her daughter, Sherry Coker Cameron; her son, Dr. Edward Meier; five grandchildren, including Emme Cameron; and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 4 at 5 p.m. at Hodges's Family Funeral Home, Dade City.
