Victoria Baker OBITUARY
Remembering Victoria Lucille Baker (nee. Meushaw) who passed on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. She was the daughter of Edward E. Meushaw and Josephine Meushaw (nee. Pecora). Her only sibling, Edward D. Meushaw, passed a few years ago. She is survived by her husband, John Baker, Sr., and 4 children: John Baker Jr., Timothy Baker, Amanda McAlister (nee. Baker), Christopher Baker, and their spouses: Kay Baker, James McAlister and Ashley Baker. She also had the privilege and joy to wrap her loving arms around 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Vickie was the most loving mother and wife, who always put her family first. We met as Juniors in high school and never looked back. Our love lasted almost 58years with more than 53 married. She was a fighter. She fought 4 cancers over 28 years, completely beating the first 3. Diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer (stage 4) in September 2018, she was given 3 years. She was still fighting hard over 7 years later.
She was the greatest, most loving, hard working woman I ever knew. It was my privilege to be her husband. This loss hurts more than I could ever imagine. She accomplished many things in her life that some said she couldn't: becoming a nurse (her passion), getting an Associates degree and starting a business. Her business was selling hand-made Rwandan products for Azizi Life (https://www.azizilife.com/) in the U.S. It helped Rwandan artisans and village communities.
She was not a fan of cut flowers which soon die anyway. Instead of flowers I ask you to support the wonderful work at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa Florida. She was treated there, and the people and work they do was terrific for her and others. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation, supporting Breast Cancer Research. Donations can be made:
