Victor Shan Leon, a beloved restaurateur and cherished member of the community, passed
away peacefully on April 22, 2024, at the age of 65. Known for his generous spirit, warm smile,
and unwavering kindness, Victor touched the lives of all who knew him.
Victor developed a passion for the restaurant business from an early age, taking over and
expanding his parents, Ho Ho Chinese restaurants, including the hugely popular South Tampa
Ho Ho Chin Wah. Victor himself was a beloved community member known for creating a
welcoming atmosphere in his restaurants along with delicious cuisine.
Victors generosity and love for helping people led him to be a founding member of The Krewe
of Cavaliers, a philanthropic Tampa social club that helped the community in countless ways.
Victor's love for travel took him to far-flung destinations around the world, where he explored
new cultures, cuisines, and experiences with boundless enthusiasm. His concern and care for
everyone he knew inspired lots of people.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his loving husband Philip
Kearney of Dade City. Victor was a devoted husband, sharing 17 wonderful years with Philip.
Together they created a home filled with love and laughter.
In addition to his partner, Victor is survived by his many nieces, nephews, and a large extended
family who adored him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Victor's life will be held at a future date.
Victor will be remembered for his generosity, his kindness, and his steadfast love and concern
for others. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, love, and joy that will continue to live on in the
hearts of all who knew him.
Rest in peace, dearest Victor. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten
