Spraggins, Vera Catherine, 92 of Dade City, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 under the care of Gulfside Regional Hospice. She was born June 4, 1920 in Woodhull Township, MI to Orville Dewey & Vera Bell Pace Cook and moved to this area 20 years ago from Brooksville, FL. She worked for 20 years at First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg where she served as church secretary and bookkeeper. Following her retirement, she had attended First Baptist church of Brooksville, First Baptist Church of Dade City and San Antonio Community Church. She is survived by her daughters: Daphne Reed (Marvin), Dade City, FL, Beth Vosbein (Fred), Burns, TN, Catie Carswell (George), Dunedin, FL; brother: Llewellyn Cook (Sandi), Shinglehouse, PA; sister: Dora Bean, Tallahassee, FL; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: D.W. Spraggins. Graveside services will be held 10:30am Friday, May 3, 2013 at Woodlawn Memorial Park in St. Petersburg, FL. The family will receive friends for viewing from 5-7pm Thursday evening at the 5th Street Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City. Flowers will be gratefully accepted or those that wish may make donations in her memory to Gulfside Regional Hospice or a Hospice of choice.
