Vance Elton Rimes 91, of Kathleen, FL passed away Friday, January 20th, 2023, in Lakeland, FL. He was born July 29, 1931, in Marco Island, FL to Leroy & Ella Ruth Rimes. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a former Assistant Supply Officer for the Civil Air Patrol. He worked as an Electrician but followed his true calling as a Preacher of The Gospel. He Pastored at the NorthGate Pentecostal Church of God in Tampa and was an active volunteer with the Zephyrhills Museum of Military History and with Gulfside Regional Hospice.

Vance is survived by 3 children: Vance Rimes Jr. (Arisleida), Dana Rimes (Amy), Rhonda Lopes (Robert Moody); 4 sisters: Margaret, Camilla, Carmen, Marilyn; 1 brother: Andy; 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years: Cledith Elsie Rimes; 1 sister: Sylvia; and 5 brothers: Ronald, Ernest, Lavonne, Russell, and Wendell.

Funeral Services will be held 9:30am Friday, February 10th, 2023, at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City, with burial to follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
