Obituary

Van Seibert McGlawn, 91, of Zephyrhills, passed away on Tuesday June 9th 2015. He was born on February 13, 1924 in Hanceville, AL to Bert Samuel McGlawn and Edith Amelie Seibert McGlawn. He graduated from Southern Missionary College with a Bachelors of Science in Healthcare Administration in 1949. In 1950 he married June Loach, the love of his life. He dedicated himself to promoting the delivery of quality health and wellness services while working as a Health Care Administrator at several facilities including the Fletcher Sanitarium and Hospital in NC, Watkins Memorial Ellijay and Valdosta Regional in GA, and building the Florida Living Nursing Center in FL. He served as a member of the United States Navy during World War II as a Communications Specialist honorably discharged from service in 1946. He was a compassionate mentor to many and enjoyed sharing the love of Jesus Christ at every opportunity. Van is survived by his wife June, his daughters Vanette and April, grandchildren Britton and Branigin, siblings Elinor and Jack and son in law Daniel. Van was preceded in death by his son, Alan brothers Harold and Truman, Sisters Wanda, Lorene, and Billie and son in law George. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 16 at 11:00 am at the East Pasco Seventh-Day Adventist Church located at 7329 Dairy Rd. in Zephyrhills, followed by a full military honor interment service in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell at 2:30 pm.
