Charles Thomas Grimes, Jr was born the youngest of four children to Charles Grimes, Sr and Cullen Grimes on March 16th of 1948. He was raised in Jacksonville, FL, graduated from Jacksonville University, and moved to Dade City shortly after returning from his military post in Germany. When he returned to the States he brought back the woman who would be his life's partner for the next 40 years. He and his wife Brigitte would go on to raise two children, John & Christina, and live to share the joy of three grandchildren prior to his passing this Monday. In 1972 he joined his father at Grimes Tire Shop, and ran the business with a man he admired for 13 years, prior to taking sole ownership in 1985. For 41 yrs. the business has been highly regarded in the community for its honest and ethical service. Today, there is a field at Dade City Little League named in his honor to commemorate his commitment to the families of this community. Services will be held at Hodges Funeral Home 11441 Hwy 301, Dade City, FL this Saturday the 24th at 10am and the family will receive guests at their home directly thereafter.
