Tommie Lewis, 85, of Dade City, FL passed away January 17, 2024. Tommie was born in Brinkley, Arkansas to Ralph and Wilma Sue Lewis on April 28, 1938. He retired in 2000 from CF Industries after 34 years of service as a Production Superintendent. After working long hours farming rice fields in Arkansas, he moved to Dade City, FL where he worked at Lykes Pasco before CF. He was a skilled worker in various trades who took every opportunity to teach those that would listen. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 65 years, Loetta Lewis or as he referred to her as "My Love Loetta", great-grandson Atticus, and his beloved fur children Lucky and Rocko. Tommie is survived by his two sons Kenneth L. Lewis (wife Vicki) and David P. Lewis, one sister Janice Helms (Buddy); four-grandchildren, Cody Lewis (wife Andrea), Dalton Lewis (wife Karina), Kelci Lewis (Zak Robbins) and Lexie Lewis. Four great-grandchildren: Brantley, Holden, Harper, and Coralei Scout Lewis, and his beloved four-legged grandpup, Bud. Tommie had several nieces and nephews, along with many friends and hunting buddies. Tommie was an avid Outdoorsman, who led his hounds and family into the woods. His hobbies included fox hunting field trials throughout the country and deer hunting. He was honored with an induction into the Florida State Fox Hunters Association Hall of Fame in 2014. He was a member of the Cornerstone Community Church in Richland, FL. He was a very devoted Husband, Father, Papa and often shared how proud he was of the family he and Loetta created. There will be a gathering of family and friends at Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 Chapel on Monday, January 22, 2024 from 5:00 7:00pm. The funeral service will be the following day, January 23, 2024 at 10:00am, followed by burial at Floral Memorial Gardens.
