Hancock, Thurman Harris, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at his residence. He was born the 8th child to Joseph and Ethel Hancock in Dade City, FL on October 18, 1933. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice, his daughter, Marie, his parents, and his siblings. He leaves behind his former wife, Helen Schramm; son, Frederick and wife Winnie; granddaughter, Jessica; and great-granddaughter, Xaviana. Thurman served 2 years in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. A lifelong resident of Dade City and the 5th generation of the family, he attended Pasco High School. He was an active member of the First United Church in Dade City for many years, serving each Sunday as an Usher at the 11 am service. He worked at Withlacoochee River Electric Corporation in town. Thurman was always a quiet, humble, gentle, loving man with a great sense of humor, and he will be missed by all that knew him. There will be a memorial service on Friday, February 7th, at 11 am at the First United Methodist Church in Dade City with inurnment at Townsend House Cemetery.Arrangements by Hodges Family Funeral Home, 301 Chapel Dade City, FL.
