Thomas R. West, 90, of Venice, FL passed away 3/30/2014. He was born 08/31/1923 in Scarboro, Maine to Thomas R. West and Stella M. Higgins. Thomas was a Purple Heart Veteran of WWII and a recipient of the French Legion of Honor. He lived in Kittery, Maine and worked as an EPR manager for the Department of Navy at Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard. Upon retirement he moved to Zephyrhills, FL. Recently, he moved to Venice, FL where he died at his home at Venetian Gardens surrounded by his family. He was married to the late Shirley E. West. Survivors include 3 sons, Thomas R. (Jean) West and his children, Thomas, David and Allison West, Donald C. (Barbara) West and his children, Donald West, Cheri DeLorge and Jennifer Graham, Kenneth West and his children, Valarie Lander and Kenneth West; sister, Dorothy Crawford; brother, Earl West and several great grandchildren. He will he interned at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell along with his wife.
