Thomas (Tommy) Phillip Valdez Jr

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas (TP) & Frances (Frannie) Valdez, and his brother James (Jimmy) Valdez.

Tommy is survived by his son Tom (Kristen) Valdez III of Ridge Manor; sister Jackie Valdez of Ridge Manor; grandchildren Broc Valdez and Blayne Valdez of Ridge Manor; nephews Robert Smith and Destin Smith of Ridge Manor.

Tommy was a longtime resident of Dade City, Florida. He was born on August 10, 1954 to Thomas (TP) Sr and Frances (Frannie) Brenton Valdez in Miami, Florida. Tommy passed away peacefully on February 2, 2021, from his battle with cancer. He was 66.

After graduating in 1972 from Hialeah High School with many football scholarship offers, he decided marrying a girl he fell in love with (Gayle Martin Valdez) was more important. They married and had their only child, Thomas (Tom) P Valdez III a few years later.

Tommy followed in his father's career footsteps and spent his life in the construction industry. In the later part of his career along with his brother Jimmy they were involved in creating many of the attractions that you see today at Disney and Universal. They had a true passion for it.

Dad, Grandpa, Brother, and Uncle Tommy, remember to leave the gate open until we meet again. Our hearts and spirits are always with you as you are with us.
