Thomas Francis McGrane, of Zephyrhills, FL, died on Wednesday July 13th 2016. He was 91. He was born on December 3rd, 1924 in Port Washington, NY to Josephine Hayes and Walter Senecal McGrane. He graduated from Manhattan College with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering in 1948. In 1949 he married Anna Thomasen, and together they had 4 children, Michael, Daniel, Mary and Virginia. He worked as a Civil Engineer, owner of his own engineering corporation, in Great Neck, NY. He dedicated himself to his family life, and to ensuring his children and grand-children had proper advanced education. He served as a member of the United States Army during World War II, landing at Omaha Beach during the Normandy Invasion, and later as a Sargent in Pattons 3rd Army Corps of Engineers. He was honorably discharged from service in 1944. He was a devout Catholic throughout his life. He will be greatly missed. Thomas is survived by his wife Anna, his sons Michael and Daniel, his daughters Mary and Virginia, his grandchildren, Jennifer, Erin, Thomas, Britton, Caroline and Nicole, and great-granddaughter Tamber.A wake will be held at 6:00PM at Hodges Funeral Home in Dade City on Thursday, July 21st 2016 with a funeral mass and burial Friday, July 22nd, 2016 at 11:00AM at Saint Josephs Catholic Church. He will be interred at the National Veterans Cemetery in Bushnell with full military honors.
