Thomas Joseph Holmes, 83, of Zephyrhills Florida, formerly of Tampa, entered heaven on May 18, 2025 at 11:48 pm. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 26, 1941, to the late Percy Holmes and Julia Coyas.

A member of Shiloh Baptist Church, he was faithful to the Lord and kept God in his heart, sharing the word and witnessing to others. A loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He served six years in The Army National Guard of Florida and spent the majority of his 25 year professional career at A.M. International. He enjoyed and was talented in carpentry and mechanics and drove the Sunday school bus at Temple Heights Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife Viola Marie Holmes, his son Kenneth Joseph Holmes of Zephyrhills and his sister Marie Rose Cain of Texas. He is survived by his son Timothy (Marisa) of Zephyrhills, Diane Haley of Texas and his grandson Jackson Holmes.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 5-7 pm at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel, 36327 FL-54 Zephyrhills, FL 33541. The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 11:00 am at Shiloh Baptist Church, 905 W Terrace Drive, Plant City, FL. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am. Committal to follow at the Oakside Cemetery, Zephyrhills.
