Thomas Lee Hanson (1945-2026)

Thomas Lee Hanson, 80, of Dade City, Florida, passed away on July 23, 2026.

Tom was born on September 1, 1945, in Rome, Georgia, to JL and Myrtis Hanson. He graduated from Coosa High School, served in the US Navy receiving an honorable discharge in 1969, and graduated from Georgia Tech with an engineering degree in 1972. As an engineer, he worked for Lykes Pasco Packing Co. in Dade City. He became a Professional Engineer and opened his own consulting firm in 1988. Tom was an avid reader, motorcycle enthusiast, and loved western movies.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty Hanson, and daughter, Jill (Frank), brother-in-law Max Willingham, and brother-in-law Eddie Williams (Denise); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 31st at 4pm at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 11441 US Hwy 301, Dade City, Florida, with a reception immediately following at the Bike Barn located at 37237 Church Avenue in Dade City, Florida.
