Thomas Eston Dieffenwierth

January 14, 1945 December 10, 2020

The Dieffenwierth Family is sad to announce the passing of Thomas "Tommy" Dieffenwierth on Thursday, December 10, 2020. Tommy passed away while undergoing treatment for cancer.

Tommy is survived by his son, Michael Todd Dieffenwierth (Gina); granddaughters: Madison and Sydney Dieffenwierth; sisters: Linda Dieffenwierth (Dorsett), Suzy (Parker) Metcalf; brother, Larry (Maureen) Dieffenwierth; one niece and five nephews.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Miranda Dieffenwierth.

Tommy was born in Tampa, Florida, the eldest son of Thomas F. Dieffenwierth and Esther Dieffenwierth. He was also known affectionately as "Snuffy" by his friends.

Tommy was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He loved to just be out in the woods and could tell a hunting story and make you feel like you were with him.

Tommy served as past President of the Gulf Coast Chapter of the American Wild Turkey Federation. He was also employed by the Florida Freshwater Fish and Game Commission during hunting season.

Tommy loved to cook and helped various communities and organizations with outdoor wildlife cookouts through the years.

In his earlier life, he enjoyed being a ranch hand for the Barthle Brothers Ranch in Dade City. Its been said he was born about two hundred years too late Tommy would have fit right in as a Florida settlerif you were a friend of Tommys you know what I mean.

There will be a memorial service held outside, under the oaks, at Townsend House Cemetery on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at 2pm. Both family and friends are welcome to attend. Casual attire is encouraged.

Refreshments will be served after the service, so if you wish to bring gator tail, frog legs, venison, or anything you caught wild Tommy would be proud.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Moffitt Cancer Center at www.moffittcancerfoundation.org
