Obituary

Thomas James Clark of Dade City, Florida, passed away Sunday afternoon April 19, 2026, at the Rucki Hospice Care Center, Zephyrhills, FL.
Tom was born on January 13, 1932, to Frank and Elizabeth (Elsie) Clark in Neenah, Wisconsin.

He married Shirley Ann Mickelson at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Neenah on October 18, 1952. She was the love of his life for 74 years.

Tom served in the U. S. Army from April 1953 to April 1955. During his deployment, he was stationed in Germany. After being honorably discharged, he relocated back to Tampa, Florida and rejoined Shirley and their first son Jeff, who had been born while Tom was deployed.

In April 1956, he started a 37-year career with Tampa Electric Company where he worked in the storeroom in the Tampa office and eventually retired in 1994 as the manager of Engineering and Operations in Dade City. In 1958 Tom and Shirley moved to Dade City along with their sons Jeff and Kevin. In 1960 they welcomed their third son Keith. Later in life, he said his transfer to Dade City was one of the best things that ever happened to his family.

From the time he arrived in Dade City, Tom was involved with the community. He and his family belonged to the First United Methodist Church, where he was a blessing to many through his years of Godly service. He was involved with coaching PeeWee basketball and later coached his sons at Little League baseball. He became active in the Jaycees and Kiwanis and eventually served as President in both organizations. He was also a member and Board of Director of the Rotary Club. He served as President of the Dade City Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Advisory Committee of the Dade City Planning Board.

In his leisure time, Tom loved to golf, play tennis, travel, woodwork, and spend time with family.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, and his twin sister, Margaret.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley and sons Jeff (April), Kevin (Donna) Keith (Debbie). Grandchildren, Samantha, Chase, Jade, Grace,Justin, Brad, Sara and Kaitlin. Great grandchildren, Logan, Connor, Wyatt, Esme, Preston, Madyson, Braelyn, Fallon, Elsie, Annabel, Jack and Charlotte.

Tom left an indelible mark of love, kindness, and integrity on every member of the Clark family, and they are grateful for the devotion and warm memories that he shared with each of them. They take comfort in knowing that he is now in great company of many other family members and friends in Heaven.

A visitation at 10:00AM and memorial service at 11:00AM in the sanctuary with a luncheon in the CLC will be held at The First United Methodist Church, at 37628 Church Ave., Dade City Florida on May 4, 2026.
