Theresa Marie (Vaillancourt) Denis, of Dade City, Florida, formerly of South Royalston, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025—just one day shy of her 90th birthday. She was 89 years old.

Born on July 13, 1935, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, Theresa was the beloved daughter of Alexander and Exllda Marie (LeBlanc) Vaillancourt. She was raised in Fitchburg and Gardner, MA, where she attended the Gardner public schools.

On July 25, 1955, Theresa married the love of her life, Ronald J. Denis, at Sacred Heart Church in Gardner. Their marriage was a beautiful partnership that lasted 63 years until Ronald's passing in 2018.

Theresa worked as a stitcher and seamstress at the Asher Pants Company in Fitchburg and later as a cook at the Walter E. Fernald School in Templeton, MA. She spent over 40 years residing in South Royalston before retiring and splitting her time between Wells, Maine in the summers and Dade City, Florida during the winters.

Theresa was a woman of deep faith and officially became a Presbyterian on April 1, 2018, as a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dade City. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—embroidering, reading novels by Stephen King and Danielle Steel, and sitting quietly at the beach watching the waves roll in. Known for her generosity and kind heart, Theresa was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

She was predeceased by her husband Ronald; her daughters Vergenia and Anita Denis; and is survived by her children: Tina Denis of Gardner, MA, and Lisa Denis and her husband Robert Rice of Dade City, FL. She also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren: Christopher Ball, David Farnsworth, and Andrew Farnsworth, as well as eight beloved great-grandchildren—five boys and three girls. Theresa is also survived by her siblings: Roland Vaillancourt of Rindge, NH, and Marie Elaine Triplett and her husband Jim of San Antonio, FL.

A celebration of Theresa's life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Dade City, Florida. Interment will follow at Saint John Cemetery in Gardner, Massachusetts. Smith Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Theresa's life was a testament to love, faith, and family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered
