Theodore Theo or Ted Theologes, 87, passed away on August 2, 2016, with his wife, Angeline Joan Theologes, at his side in their Dade City home. Born on July 10, 1929, Theo was the youngest of three sons by the late Simon and Calliope Theologes.Theo grew up in New York City, where he graduated from George Washington High School in 1948. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1951 and served his country for two years as an Infantry Military Policeman, and completed his service with the rank of corporal. Theo then graduated from the New York City Police Academy in June of 1954, where he ranked first in his class. He was a decorated patrolman and detective of the NYPD for 34 years. Theo had many proud achievements as a detective and the endless stories he told were always fascinating. In fact, Theo had so many stories to draw from that he seemingly never told the same one twice. Theos work ethic and dedication are what we have come to expect from a member of The Greatest Generation.Theo and Angeline were married in 1995 and moved to Florida in 1996, where they enjoyed each other and retirement.Theo is survived by wife, Angeline; son Terry and daughter-in-law Karie Theologes of Murphy, Texas; son Troy and daughter-in-law Brandie Theologes of San Antonio, Texas; son Tony Theologes of San Diego, California; grandsons Cameron, Alex, and Zachary Theologes of Murphy, Texas: grandson Blake Theologes of San Antonio, Texas; niece Ellen LaRosa of New York City; niece Diane Bird of Barkhamsted, Connecticut; and niece Calliope Thakur of Queens, New York. Theo was predeceased by his brothers Jordan and Constantine.Theo's viewing will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 11441 US-301, Dade City, FL 33525. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at 12:00 noon at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 9426 Little Rd, New Port Richey, FL 34654.
