Thane (JAKE) D Reed, 94, lifetime resident of Six Lakes, MI passed away 4/14/2015 at his home in Zephyrhills, Fl. He was born 12/20/1920 in Six Lakes, MI to David and Ione Reed. Jake loved to hunt and fish. He greatly enjoyed camping for many years. If he didnt have a truck camper he had a travel trailer. There wasnt a machine or motor that Jake couldnt fix. He retired from Hitachi in Edmore, MI after 32 years. In his later years he enjoyed going to Florida for the winter where he had many friends. He was preceded in death his first wife of 52 years, Lavina Blackbird; parents, David Reed and Ione Nesbitt; son, David Reed who passed away at age 14; sisters, Margie Martin, Jean Cannon, Ione Reed. Survivors include his beloved wife of 16 years, Virginia Reed; sons, Marty (Bonnie) Reed of Six Lakes, MI, Rick Reed of Chase, MI; grandsons, Clayton (Tasha) Reed of Reed City, MI, Lynn (Laura) Reed of Ithaca, MI, Rick Reed of Ionia, MI; several great grandchildren; several step -children and several nieces and nephews. He will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery in Six Lake, MI.
