Thaddeus Walter Siok age 93, of San Antonio, passed away Saturday, November 9th, 2019.
Ted was born on February 6, 1926, in Jamaica, New York, to parents Stanley and Sophie (Darmofal) Siok. Ted served in the Navy and was involved in the following battles: Assaults on the Philippines Islands, Leyte Operation, Luzon Operation, Iwo Jima Operation, and Okinawa Gunto Operation. During that time Ted achieved the following Medals: Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 6 Stars, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 2 Stars, China Service Medal, American Theatre Medal, World War II Victory Medal, New York States Conspicuous Service Cross for duty served in a combat zone during WWII. The Conspicuous Service Cross ceremony was held at the Officers Club located in the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York. It is the only Merchant Marine Academy in the United States; equivalent to what Annapolis means to the Navy.
Survivors include; wife; Marion Siok, daughters; Linda and her husband Augie DiNardo, Eileen and her husband Kent Plemmons, a grandson; Corey DiNardo, granddaughter; Kalsey DiNardo, and a niece; Rena Kimak.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 14th, from 11 am to 12 pm at Hodges Family Funeral Home 11441 Hwy 301 Dade City, FL, with the funeral service at 12:00 pm.
