Dugan
July 30, 1946 – January 10, 2025
Susan Louise Dugan (Hartung), affectionately known as Sue, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025, in Dade City, Florida, at the age of 78.
Born on July 30, 1946, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Sue was the beloved daughter of Robert Hartung and Louise Atzert Hartung. She grew up in a lively household alongside her siblings Bob, Dave, Jeff, Bill, and Mame. She attended North Hills High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and began shaping the caring and vibrant personality that would define her life.
On January 21, 1965, Sue married the love of her life, Dave Dugan, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church in West View, Pennsylvania. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, adventure, and family. Sue was a devoted mother to three children: Dori (Fernando) Santana, Ed (Mary) Dugan, and Sandy (Tom) Shellnutt. She took great pride in being a grandmother to Taylor Holt, Jessica Dugan, Zac Shellnutt, Nick Nagy, Jack Dugan, and Natalia Nagy, and a great-grandmother to Brylee Holt, Renly Holt, and Paxton Shellnutt, whom she cherished very much.
A hardworking and determined woman, Sue was the proud owner of Solid (SLD) Trucking. She also had a deep passion for community service, dedicating time to building homes with Habitat for Humanity. She and Dave lived in various places around the Great Lakes and Georgia before retiring in Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club, where she embraced an active and fulfilling lifestyle.
Sue found joy in golf, crafts, gardening, traveling, and word puzzles. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and giving selflessly to those around her. She was known for her loving and compassionate spirit, quick wit, intelligence, and beauty—inside and out. Sue always put others before herself and left a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A funeral mass honoring Sue's life will be held on January 18th at 11am, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dade City, Florida.
Sue's legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
