Obituary

Sue Ann Green, age 88, of Zephyrhills, Florida, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on February 4, 2026, in Zephyrhills, Florida. A woman of deep faith, loving devotion, and gentle strength, Sue Ann lived a life rooted in Christ and dedicated to serving others.

Sue Ann was born on December 28, 1937, in Akron, Ohio, and lovingly raised by her mother Delphia Faye Mullen and step father Byron Mullen. She was raised in a close-knit family and grew up alongside her siblings Dave Mullen, Kay Butler, Cynthia Welch, Cheryl Sellars, Linda Butler, Gene Mullen, and Joann Mullen—learning early the values of faith, family, and compassion that would guide her throughout her life.

On June 12, 1955, Sue Ann married the love of her life, Lyden Lawrence (“L.L.”) Green, in Fruitland Park, Florida. Their marriage was a true covenant—one marked by love, faithfulness, prayer, and mutual devotion. Together, they built a home centered on Christ, hospitality, and unconditional love for family.

Sue Ann was a graduate of Leesburg High School, Class of 1955. She continued her education at the University of South Florida, studying vocal performance, and also at Pasco-Hernando Community College, where she studied childhood psychology. Her education supported what she felt was a calling from God: nurturing and guiding children with patience, kindness, and love.

Blessed with a remarkable voice, Sue Ann lifted hearts and honored God through music, singing at weddings, funerals, and other cherished moments in the life of the church. Her faith was most visibly lived out through her service to children and families. In the mid-1960s, she owned and operated Kindergarten Cottage, and for many years she faithfully served as Director of the United Methodist Church Day Care Center. Through her work, she touched countless young lives, offering not only care and education, but the steady presence of Christ’s love.

Sue Ann was also a devoted member of PEO, serving as past president and remaining an active member for over 50 years. Her life reflected a servant’s heart—quietly faithful, consistently generous, and guided by a desire to uplift others.

She lived in Wooster, Ohio; Fruitland Park, Florida; and Zephyrhills, Florida, where she spent her later years surrounded by faith, fellowship, and family.

Above all else, Sue Ann cherished her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Lyden Lawrence (“L.L.”) Green; her children Lawrence (Terry) Green, Carol (Scott) Boyd, and Tara (Richard) Salamone; and her treasured grandchildren: Travis Arnold; Jade (Todd) Schuler; Amy (Vic) Sandhu; Alesha Mallory; Joseph Mallory; Elizabeth (Travis) Hailk; Kevin (Kristi) Boyd; Marissa (Vince) Henry; Gregory Skotnicki; Kiersten Boyd; Matthew Skotnicki; and Alaina Salamone. She was also blessed with many great-grandchildren, each a precious gift from God.

She is also survived by her siblings Dave Mullen and Cynthia Welch.

Sue Ann was preceded in death by her siblings Kay Butler, Cheryl Sellars, Linda Butler, Gene Mullen, and Joann Mullen.

A celebration of Sue Ann’s life and Christian witness will be held Wednesday, February 11, at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Zephyrhills. A viewing will take place Tuesday, February 10, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Zephyrhills, Florida. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Christian Law Association, in honor of Sue Ann’s lifelong commitment to faith and Christian service.

Sue Ann Green will be remembered as a faithful servant of Christ, a devoted wife and mother, a loving grandmother, and a woman whose life reflected God’s grace. While she will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the promise that she is now whole, at peace, and reunited with loved ones in the presence of the Lord.
