Stewart R. Haas (Dick) aged 90, passed away with family surrounding him on December 22, 2024.

Dick was born on February 28, 1934 in Olean, N.Y. He always loved airplanes and followed his brother Bill into military service, becoming a Marine serving in the Korean Conflict.

Dick met Elaine Carol Forney (of Olean, N.Y.) and they enjoyed a loving marriage for 65 years. Dick attended Tri-State University, then began his career in aeronautical engineering working for McDonnell Douglas, Singer Link and Reflectone. His accomplishments included work on the Gemini Space Program, the F-4 Phantom and as project manager for the A-10 Warthog Flight Simulator.

Dick is the father of 4 children Mary Lynn Hill, Richard Haas (Elba), David Haas (Ann) and Scott Haas (Dao).

Dick also had the pleasure of being a grandfather to Skyler, Leandra, Maxwell, Michael and Katelynn.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua in San Antonio, Florida, on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 10am. A celebration of life will immediately follow at Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club Clubhouse.
