Steven S
Wood
September 23, 1959 – July 22, 2023
Steven Stuart Wood was born September 23, 1959, to Stuart and Sharon Wood abroad in Baudette, MN as his parents lived in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba and they desired for him to have dual citizenship. Steve also lived in Gimli, Manitoba on the Royal Canadian Air Force Base. In 1967, his family moved to Seattle, WA. In 1970, they moved to Warroad, MN where Steve grew up and graduated from Warroad High School.
Steve had two sons Caleb, born in 1985 and Sean, born in 1987.
Steve held local jobs until attending the International Falls Nursing program. He graduated in 1993 while living in Baudette. He returned to Warroad in 1994 when his father passed away. During this time, he met Susan at Wilmers Red Owl after not seeing each other for 17 years. They were married in Williams, MN on May 27, 1995. They moved to Crookston in 1997 and Steve attended the University of Minnesota Crookston to study for his bachelors degree in Dietetics, Nutrition and Business Management. They lived in Woodbury until he transferred to Tampa, FL in 2001 with the company he was managing. Steve became ill in 2003 and was unable to work any longer.
Steve held his family and faith close to his heart. He enjoyed cooking, learning about history and attending antique estate sales. He had many stories he liked to share with friends about his family and heritage; always throwing in a little comedy for a laugh.
Steve is survived by his wife, Susan; sisters Shelli Spina and Samantha Nichols; sons Caleb Wood (Thief River Falls) and Sean Wood (Washington state); Stepson Bryan Pieper (Diana) (Lutz, FL); grandchildren, Christian, Marcus, Athena, Atticus and Lennox; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews.
