Sophie Emma Gude Storch, 97, of San Antonio, FL passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Born on October 28, 1927, in St. Joseph, Florida, Sophie was the beloved daughter of Mary and Clem Gude and devoted spouse of Edward Storch.

As a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, Sophie found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. In addition, she was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, St. Anthony's Catholic Woman's Club where she initiated the production and sale of kumquat pies for the Kumquat Festival, the Day-Z Garden Club, The Red Hats, The Leading Ladies, several bridge clubs and Supper Club. Sophie also enjoyed singing in the choir at church. She was employed at Kiefer's Pharmacy and their toy store for many years.

Sophie is survived by her children: Barbara Merritt (Larry), Edward Storch (Rose), Linda Venable (Tim), James Storch (Laurie), Sandra Castle (David), and daughter-in-law, Ginger Storch. She is also survived by Frank Gude (Andrea), Carl Gude (Louise), 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Sophie was preceded in death by her parents, Clem and Mary Gude, her husband, Edward of 58 years, son, Jerry Storch, daughter, Janet Parker, brother and sister-in-law, Florian and Sylvia Gude, Leonard Gude, sister and brother-in-law, Eda and Louis Barthle, Cecelia and John Scharber, Mildred and Bill Scharber and Agnes and John McCarthy.

Her family will honor her life with a Funeral Mass 10am, Monday, November 18, 2024, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in San Antonio, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to Haven Hospice of Chiefland, FL and Ayers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Trenton, FL.
