Silke W. Wart, age 72, died after a brief illness on March 22, 2018 in Dade City, Florida surrounded by her family. Silke is survived by her husband of 52 years Charles Wart, of Dade City, FL; her children: Michelle (David) Capozza of Fayetteville, NY, Suzanne (Eric Dobkins) Wart of Clermont, FL, Jennifer (Christopher) Harvey of Sandy Pond, NY; grandchildren: Kara and Samantha Capozza, Zachary and Charlie Alpern and Garrett LaPointe; her siblings: Heike (Tom) Danahy, Lauraine O'Neil; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Reinhold and Gertrude Buehrichen. Silke was born June 26, 1945 in Hamburg, Germany and immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 9 where she attended Fayetteville Manlius Schools in New York. She married her husband October 23, 1965, she lived most of her life in Manlius, NY, where she was an avid tennis player in her younger years. She also enjoyed over 15 years on Sandy Pond, NY, where they enjoyed boating with friends and family and evenings enjoying a good bonfire. She was a lifetime member of the Sandy Pond Sportsmans Club. When she and her husband came to Florida in 2009, they fell in love with the community of Travelers Rest Resort where she met many new friends. She enjoyed playing Majong where she was featured several times in the community newspaper. Family and friends will always remember her as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Many would say that it was a privilege to have known such a kind soul. A Celebration of Life will be held 4pm Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Travelers Rest Resort. A Celebration of Life will also be held this summer on Sandy Pond, date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL or to Gulfside Regional Hospice in Zephyrhills, FL. Memorial Service
