Shirley Rydzik was born in Buffalo, NY to Joseph and Florence Kroth on February 8th, 1935. She went to her eternal home with Jesus on February 17, 2024 surrounded by her loving and caring daughters.
Shirley graduated from Kensington HS in Buffalo in 1952. She married John Rydzik in June of 1953. They were married for 46 years until his death in 1999.
There were many things Shirley enjoyed - growing flowers and vegetables, reading, crossword puzzles, playing dominoes and putting jigsaw puzzles together with her dear friends, knitting, sewing, going on picnics or out for lunch, painting and putting up wall paper or refinishing furniture. Most of all, she enjoyed fishing, especially with her grandson Eric, daughter Nancy and their friend Kyle. She had various jobs over the years, including driving a school bus when she lived in Wyoming county, NY.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Annette (Ron) Van Allen, Nancy (Brian) Stroud, sister Carol (Tim) Calvert, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, daughter in law Debby Rydzik and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, son Peter, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and a nephew.
Burial will be private at a future time convenient to the family.
