Shirley Ann Hood age 73, of Dade CIty, FL passed away Sunday, February 12th, 2023. Shirley was born in Brunswick, Maine on January 15, 1950, and she spent most of her life in Lewiston and Brunswick until she moved to Florida with Rick in 2014. She is predeceased by her husband Richard Hood, her mother, Muriel Saucier and 2 brothers Larry and James Saucier. She is survived by her daughter Wendy King (Gregory), grandsons, Owen and Cameron Landry, Siblings Lorraine Bickford (Richard), Donald Saucier and Susan Ruel (Paul) and several nephews-Greg, Chris, Derek and Jon. Shirley spent most of her working career at the Lewiston Sun Journal until she retired at age 62. She had a love of traveling, having gone on over 15 cruises, playing cards, camping, especially with her daughter and son in law, grandsons and friends at Lake Pemaquid, and most of all being a grandmother to Owen and Cameron. She was extremely devoted to her family. She has helped so many over the years including always opening her home to any family or friend who needed a place to stay or just visit. She will be missed dearly. Arrangements are under the care of Hodges Family Funeral Home, 301 Chapel Dade City, Fl. There will be no service at this time. Special Thanks to her dear friends Theresa and Carol who provided her much support and comfort in the last 2 years since Rick passed.
