The family of Shirley Jean East, lovingly known as "Shirl," is deeply saddened to announce her passing on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the age of 38. Shirley passed away peacefully at her home in Dade City, Florida, surrounded by her loving family, with her devoted mother by her side, after a courageous battle with Stage 4 cancer.

Born on April 21, 1986, in Madison, Florida, Shirley was a graduate of St. Cloud High School, Class of 2003. She will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and her artistic eye that found and created beauty in everything around her. Above all, she took immense pride in her three children and cherished the special bond she shared with her niece Lilly Ann and nephew Christopher "Gator."

Shirley is survived by her husband, Ryan East of Virginia; her children, Madison Jeanelle (Josh), Ryanna Deborah Jane, and Collin Lee, all of Virginia; her loving parents, Timmy and Debbie Cochran of Dade City; her siblings, Christopher of Tampa, Florida, Marvin, and Lavada of Ashland City, Tennessee; and her grandmother, Shirley Brooks (Joe). Aunt Patty Chandler (Fred); Uncle Tommy Honaker (Kristy) all of Tampa; Father in Law, Jerry East; Mother in Law, Marcy Lane (East) both of Madison Heights, Virginia; Sisters in Law, Christina Wakefield of Tampa; Niki Rose (Kenny), Kayla Sutton (Joel); Brother in Law, Caleb all 3 of Virginia. Nephews, Christopher (Gator), George (Hopper), Caden, Landon and Gabe; Niece, Lilly Ann; Cousins, Kevin, Kaylee, Jeanie, Richard, Brandy

She was predeceased by her brother Justin Monroe and her grandfather Jerry Lee.

A funeral service to honor Shirley's life will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Hodges Family Funeral Home, located at 11441 US Hwy-301 in Dade City. Her final resting place will be at Garden of Memories in Tampa, Florida.

Shirley's family and friends will continue to celebrate the stories of a fierce, funny, and loving woman whose legacy lives on through those who loved her most. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
